Is it possible to use Magic DNS Web Filter with Operating Systems different from Microsoft Windows?

Yes, beacuse Magic DNS works with all the systems tha are connected to the Internet, beacuse it is based on standard protocols that are universally recognized.


Is it possible for the private clients to customize the viewable content with Magic DNS Web Filter?
Yes, it is possible with at a highly advantageous price. However it's necessary that your internet connection has a static IP address. You can get this information to your ISP.


Is it possible that some site with adult content are not in your lists?
Yes. Internet sites are created continuosly, so it is possible that some of them are not yet inserted in our lists. In this case, please don't hesitate to report them to us. In this way we can halt access to them immediately.


How can I avoid someone else changing the DNS settings?
It's sufficient to do the changes with an administrator account and provide accounts with user privileges to the people that must use Internet in protected mode. If you have a router it's enough to set our DNS and block to the client the traffic on the port 53 TCP/UDP. However the procedure is very simple. Contact an expert for the configuration.


Is it necessary to sign up in order to use the service?
No, the service can be used immediately without registration both for free or as a test for a company. The registration is needed only for the techical support and to see customized configuration for the internet contents , and to determine the start date of the not-free services.


Can Magic DNS be used on the mobile connections UMTS /GPRS?
Sure, there are no restrictions. For instance, the service is succesfully tested with Vodafone. Anyway we suggest you do a test before buying the service if the expected use is not the free service.


I have a list of sites previously used with a dedicated software. Is it possible to re-use it without insert the domains another time from a web interface?
Yes. For the clients that pass to our service, our staff will import for free the domains list that you provide us with in the common formats such as XSL, TXT, DOC, RTF and others.


What is the average time frame to obtain a reply from the tecnhical support team?
For the registered clients, it is usually a working day.


Is it possible to do a functionalities upgrade before the expiring date?
Sure, without any additional cost. For the functionalities upgrade the price is only the cost difference between the present and new functionalities requested from the activation day.


Does Magic DNS substitute the antivirus software?
No, it doesn't. Magic DNS is able to drastically reduce the risks due to spyware and malware with our filters, but virus threats can come from e-mail messages or by many other ways.

Is it possible to prevent clients to use external DNS without having to create non-administrative accounts or have at the same time computer with controlled web browsing and computer with free web browsing?
Yes, it is sufficient to restrict access from the client to port 53 (DNS) through the use of a firewall that is generally present on all routers. It's possible to create a rule "LAN to WAN" allowing access to port 53 from clients who need to browse the web freely, and a rule that prevents access to port 53 from the clients on which you want to use controlled web browsing.
